CHICAGO ─ To show appreciation and lift the spirits of local seniors, State Senator Ram Villivalam is collecting cards for residents in long-term care facilities for Valentine’s Day.
“Valentine’s cards serve as a reminder that we are seen, heard and cared for,” said Villivalam (D-Chicago). “I am excited to join community members in spreading joy this season to local senior residents thanks to continued participation in our card collection drive.”
Villivalam is encouraging residents to write handmade or store-bought cards to help bring joy to older adults during Valentine’s Day. Youth are also encouraged to participate.
Cards can be mailed or delivered now through Feb. 11 to Villivalam’s office at 3851 W. Devon Ave., Chicago, IL 60659. Residents of the 8th District can also call Villivalam’s office to schedule a pick up between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
